Approximately a 10 km hike through the Kondelwald and a side valley of the Alf. The path offers great views into the Alf valley, towards Bengel and Springiersbach, and in good visibility even to the Wittlich basin. The constant change of uphill and downhill, as well as long flat sections, make the route very varied. The path is very well signposted No. 5 (green), well maintained, and walkable at any time of the year.
Well signposted circular route No. 5 (green) from the Springiersbach monastery through the Kondelwald and a side valley of the Alf. Beautiful views into the Füllersbach valley, into the Alfbach valley towards Bengel and Springiersbach.
Starting point is the public parking lot at the Springiersbach monastery church.
From here, follow a farm track past the Springiersbach hiking hut towards Kondelwald. Follow the signposted route No. 5 (green). Enjoy great views into the Alf valley, towards Bengel and Springiersbach. In good weather, you have an unobstructed view of the Wittlich basin. The constant change of uphill and downhill as well as long flat sections make the route very varied.
On the way back, the path leads past the Hommerichskopf with views of Bengel and the Alf valley, as well as past pastures and orchards. A rest can be taken at Jacobs Cross. A magnificent view of Springiersbach and the monastery church there invites you to linger.
At the next fork, keep left to reach the Springiersbach farm. From here you can already spot the bell tower of the monastery church.
At the end of the route, turn left back towards Springiersbach and to the starting point, the monastery church parking lot.
