Whether it’s free travel by bus and train, reduced admission to attractions or great discounts on leisure activities – the various visitor cards available along the Moselle, Saar and Ruwer rivers will make your holiday even more relaxing and varied. Depending on your holiday destination and accommodation, there are various discount cards available to help you explore the region in a particularly convenient and affordable way.

From the Roman UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Trier to the wine-growing regions of the Middle Mosel and the attractions in Koblenz, the visitor cards offer numerous extras for both overnight guests and day trippers. 

On this page, you’ll find an overview of the region’s main visitor cards, their benefits, the areas where they’re valid, and information on where to get them.

The Public Transport Guest Ticket is your free travel pass for the Mosel, Saar and Ruwer regions (depending on your accommodation, within the VRT or VRM area). It allows you to travel free of charge on buses and regional trains in 2nd class throughout your stay. The ticket is usually valid from the day of arrival until the day of departure and is issued directly by your accommodation.

Area of validity: Depending on your accommodation, throughout the Trier Regional Transport Association (VRT) and the Rhine-Moselle Transport Association (VRM)

Available: At all participating hotels, holiday flats, guesthouses and wineries upon check-in (automatically included with your overnight stay).

The Trier Card is the official sightseeing card for the city of Trier. It offers you attractive discounts and benefits at many attractions, guided tours and cultural events. It’s the ideal way to explore Germany’s oldest city, with its Roman monuments such as the Porta Nigra, the Imperial Baths and the Amphitheatre, in comfort and at a lower cost.

The Trier Antikencard is your combined ticket for the city of Trier’s most important Roman sights. It gives you discounted or bundled admission to Trier’s major ancient highlights and is particularly suitable for visitors who wish to immerse themselves in the city’s Roman history.

Valid for: Roman monuments and museums in the city of Trier

Available: From the Trier Tourist Information Centre next to the Porta Nigra, at all Roman sites and at the Rheinisches Landesmuseum Trier, as well as online via the Trier Shop

The (digital) Bernkastel-Kues visitor card offers you a host of benefits in the holiday region in and around Bernkastel-Kues. These include discounts on leisure activities, wine and themed tours, as well as selected attractions and concerts.

Available from: All participating accommodation providers (hotels, holiday flats, wineries) upon check-in.

The Mollie Guestcard is your digital discount card for the region around Traben-Trarbach. It offers you plenty of discounts on leisure activities, wine tastings, thermal spas and regional experiences. You can also travel free of charge on buses and regional trains within the VRT area and, in some cases, the VRM area, allowing you to explore the region with complete flexibility.

The Koblenz Card is the official discount card for visitors to the city of Koblenz. It offers you a wide range of discounts on attractions, museums, guided tours and leisure activities for 24 hours, making your stay in this city on the Rhine and Moselle particularly flexible.
