From the parking lot at the edge of Hinzenburg, head toward Heddert and follow the Hb1 trail above the village of Hinzenburg, with views of the village and the hills above the Ruwer Valley. The trail winds through wooded, unspoiled terrain to the Seiferingstein, a large quartzite rock.
The trail continues into the valley to the Rauruwer. It then follows the Rauruwer and heads back uphill toward Hinzenburg.

We leave the hiking parking lot at Hinzenburg and follow the Hb1 signs. The trail is marked in both directions. If you follow the trail above the village, it first leads through a wooded area. After 3 km, we reach the Seiferingstein, a weathered quartzite rock. However, if you believe the legend of the Seiferingstein, it was once a magnificent dwarf castle that fell into ruins because young lads tried to steal the treasures of the dwarf king and his fairy bride who lived there....
After a short rest at this legendary landmark, the route continues toward Rauruwer, which you’ll reach after another 1.5 km. We then follow the stream along an idyllic stretch. At kilometer 6, we turn right onto the farm road, which leads us back to the hiking parking lot.
As a general rule, entering the forest and walking on the trails is at your own risk.
Depending on the season and weather conditions, some sections of the trails require extra surefootedness. Therefore, please wear clothing appropriate for the season and weather, as well as hiking boots with adequate tread.
Sturdy shoes, plenty of food.
There are no places to eat along the way, so be sure to pack a snack!
