The developed cycle path runs along the Moselle and offers numerous opportunities to take a break on benches or directly on the Moselle shore. In the villages, there are beautiful cafés with a view of the Moselle and rustic wine taverns that invite you to stop by. The route mostly follows the river. Where it turns off, it runs through the historic town centers.
The scenic bike tour along the Moselle over the bridges in Kobern-Gondorf and Löf is a delight for Moselle lovers.
Take the A61 motorway at the Dieblich exit. In the town, turn towards Kobern-Gondorf. After Niederfell and Oberfell, the starting point Alken follows.
Arrival by bus line 31 to Alken Bachstraße, Mitte or Kirchstraße.
Arrival by regional express or regional train from the direction of Cochem or Koblenz, exit at Löf.
Parking is possible free of charge all day on the roadside and at the parking lots at the entrances and exits of the town.
The tour leads from Alken with its beautiful Moselle promenade to Oberfell. From there, it goes past the impressive Moselle lock to Nieferfell. There, you can cross the bridge to Kobern-Gondorf. From Kobern-Gondorf, the bridge tour continues to Lehmen before passing Löf-Kattenes. In Löf, the bridge can be crossed again to the starting point Alken.
Caution is advised due to the route along the federal road.
Bike helmet and appropriate clothing as well as protective gear.
A visit to Thurant Castle in Alken as well as to the historic marketplace or Liebig Castle in Kobern-Gondorf is highly recommended.
