For the Brückstück Weinpfad, the parking lot at Winningen station is recommended. Motorhomes can also be parked there. The entrance to the Weinpfad (without starting at the Weinhof) is only 100 meters away.
The terrace locations in the vineyards become particularly tangible. If you take the medium to challenging route, you will overcome up to 170 meters of elevation. Steep stages alternate with flat sections. The Weinpfad starts at the Weinhof. From there, it goes – partly parallel to the Röttgen Weinpfad – first toward the station and further to the Geisentreppchen. Initially, a staircase leads through the vineyards, later a steep path up to the Brückstücksweg. Good footwear is especially necessary in wet weather. For the small effort, you will be rewarded with magnificent views of the Röttgen vineyard location, the Mosel, and the neighboring community of Lay. This section is rocky, steep, and gives an impression of the hard work in the vineyards. Take a breath on the Brückstücksweg, which leads flat toward Winningen. Walking along this panoramic route, you can guess why thousands of visitors flock to the steep slope wine festival in May and why the Christmas trees light up here, high above the town, at the Lichterglanzfest. And if you occasionally hear tractors rumbling, these are probably guests exploring nature on vineyard tours, often quite cheerfully.
For your own safety and to protect flora and fauna, please always stay on the marked paths. The hiking trail has some steep, difficult, and slippery sections in rain or winter weather. Therefore, sure-footedness and good physical condition are essential prerequisites.

Hazard situations:
Should an emergency occur, quick help is needed. Even though mobile phones can send GPS signals, it is often fastest to reach the classic rescue points. These are located at spots accessible to rescue vehicles. Remember the points with green signs and a white cross. In an emergency, return there and give the number on the sign when calling emergency services. This way, rescuers will know where to find you.
For the best hiking experience, we recommend you follow the designated hiking direction (see arrows on the map). Arrow signposts in the colors of the Weinpfade will show you the direction along the way.
