The Red Oak Trail (Hiking Trail 13) is marked with small white signs "Red Oak Trail 13" and partially follows the 2-Streams Path. It starts at St. Rochus Church on Brunnenstraße and leads uphill past the church until it turns left onto the street "Auf den Büschel." After about 100 m, the Red Oak Trail turns left at the small junction and leads downhill to the edge of the village. It continues to the right into the forest. After a small ascent, a beautiful clearing in the forest is reached after about 150 m. Here it goes right uphill and shortly afterwards left along the edge of the forest. Soon the path leads back into the forest, straight ahead, past a bench with an open view of the Sammetbach valley. At the end of the path, it turns left to the bench. Here the path leads downhill to the right. After about 150 m, a forest trail junction is reached; the path continues to the left around the corner. Important note: sharply left the path now leads downhill to the Sammetbach and to the Hasborner Sauerbrunnen! After a long pause at the brook, you go back uphill on the same path to the forest path. The Red Oak Trail continues through the "Bachberg" to the naturally grown, beautiful red oak corner and then leaves the forest. It goes a short distance along the edge of the forest until the route turns left. After about 200 m it turns right again, past the bird hedge, with a magnificent view to the heights of the Hunsrück. It continues on the paved path to the left towards Oberscheidweiler. Along the edge of the village, the Red Oak Trail leads right downhill back to the church in the village center.
