The route is 9.2 km long and classified as easy to moderate. With breaks you should plan 3-4 hours. The path runs along the upper edge of the vineyards “Schweicher Annaberg” and “Longuicher Maximiner Herrenberg” in the first section before a longer descent over the Mosel village Longen leads to an idyllically designed resting place above the Longen bridge. From here the hiker can refreshed tackle the last section of the Moselblick route through the vineyard landscape back to the start and finish point. Throughout the route, you can enjoy wonderful views of the Mosel landscape near Longuich, Kirsch, and Riol.
The Mosel region is not only famous for its wine. Its unique river landscape, picturesque villages and towns as well as a two-thousand-year history make the Mosel region an enchanting holiday destination & attractions and sights beckon along both sides of the Mosel and in the side valleys. The Mosel originates in the French Vosges and flows after 545 km at Koblenz into the Rhine. The distance between source and mouth is only 278 km, clearly showing the strong meandering of the river. Thanks to the sheltered valley location between Eifel and Hunsrück, the Mosel is one of the mildest climate zones in Germany.
In lively loops, the Mosel flows towards the Rhine; behind every bend, there is a new, surprising view of vineyards and picturesque wine villages. The steep vineyards with their artfully arranged terraces are ubiquitous and together with the gentle valleys, sandstone, and slate form this unique cultural and wine landscape. In Germany’s fourth-largest wine-growing area, Riesling is cultivated on three-quarters of the vineyard area, the queen of grapes. Thus, the Mosel region represents the world’s largest closed Riesling cultivation area.

On the circular hiking route along the upper edge of the vineyards "Schweicher Annaberg" and "Longuicher Maximiner Herrenberg," the hiker is rewarded with many magnificent views of the Mosel wine landscape.

Wine village Longen: Even the smallest village of the Roman Wine Route with its nearly 100 inhabitants invites you to linger and study its history. The Luxembourg Abbey of Echternach was assigned possessions in "Longun" in the year 770.
