The approximately 6 km long circular trail impresses with an easy route and beautiful views of Dreis and the surroundings. Paved farm roads alternate with meadow and field paths, with the lively Eschenbach providing a babbling companion in the forest passages. Selected resting benches along the route invite you to relax and unwind. Through the tranquil "Eselspiedchen," it leads back along the dreamy castle garden into the village.

Free parking directly at the start of the tour at Dreyshalle
From the Dreyshalle, the path leads over Talstraße towards the north. At the Talstraße/Freie Reichsstraße/Bergstraße intersection, continue straight up Bergstraße. At the end of Bergstraße, a farm road branches off to the right, which now marks the continuation of the hike. Passing the Sonnenhof (a former agricultural estate), you reach a viewpoint with a bench and a wayside shrine on a small hill. The beautiful view over Dreis, towards the Wittlicher Senke as well as Burgberg and Asberg, invites you to linger. Continuing on asphalt, proceed towards a poultry farm. Just before the poultry farm, keep right and follow the farm road into a small hollow. Here, turn left and hike more or less straight in a northwest direction, slightly uphill, to the edge of the forest. Along meadow paths, you first walk along the forest and later descend into the valley of the Eschenbach. There, turn right towards a Christmas tree plantation. A grassy path leads through orchards back to the forest. The natural path is often wet in this area and can sometimes be muddy. After a left turn, it goes quite steeply uphill for a short stretch. Along the edge of the forest, the hike leads to a junction with several paths. Here, a paved path branches off to the left. Follow this path with a beautiful view back towards Dreis. At the signpost "Grillhütte," continue straight downhill. Fifty meters after a tight left turn, where a bench invites you to rest, the path sharply turns right onto a narrow trail. Descend through dense hedge vegetation and head towards the first houses of Dreis. Further along, you reach the Schlossstraße via the "Eselspiedchen" along the castle grounds. The castle is privately owned and cannot be visited. Adjacent to the castle stands the St. Martin parish church. A detour to the remarkable Baroque-style church from 1755 is well worth it. Now walk downhill on Schlossstraße and then turn left into Freie Reichsstraße. At the intersection Bergstr./Freie Reichsstraße/Talstraße, keep right and walk back over Talstraße to Dreyshalle.
The tour is sufficiently signposted with the "Dr5" logo and can be walked in both directions.
The natural sections can be wet and slippery depending on the weather. Hiking poles and shoes with a good tread are recommended.
Hiking boots, weather-appropriate clothing, and packed lunch should be part of the equipment for this tour.
