The 4 km long Dreiser Orchideenweg nature trail starts at the junction of the "Eselpiedchen," a narrow hiking path, into Schloßstraße by the castle wall and is continuously marked with its own trail logo. Highlights of the theme path are the seven, partly very rare and beautiful wild orchid species that can be viewed along the circular path depending on the flowering period. The information board at Blenter provides details about the different species, their growth, and flowering times. About two hours should be planned for the hike on the theme path; beautiful views and benches invite relaxation and enjoyment.
Important note: Orchids grow exclusively in a biosphere corresponding to their species. Therefore, it is not possible to remove them to preserve them in your own garden. Moving the plant inevitably causes the plant to die. Therefore, please do not remove any plants!
In the charming Eifel village of Dreis, there are seven partly very rare, fascinating orchid species that can be viewed along the Dreiser Orchideenweg nature trail.

Over the narrow path called "Eselspiedchen," the Dreiser Orchideenweg steadily ascends until it meets the service road. Crossing the service road, the partly steep climb begins past the information board at Blenter along the narrow forest path. Note: the ascent through the forest can be eased by using the paved service road, which has a gentler slope! The ascending service road is crossed a second time, and through the forest, it goes steadily uphill until the Orchideenweg joins the service road. Soon, the circular route turns left with a beautiful view of Dreis and the surroundings. It continues to the right over a soft meadow path past pastures and a hunting stand. The Orchideenweg continues to the right over an unpaved service road offering a fascinating view as far as Wittlich. Soon the theme path turns left, a short distance ahead, then right along the meadow at the forest edge. It slowly descends, passing sheep and goat pastures. Then turn right, passing the Eschenbach fir forest. Continue straight ahead, then left over the unpaved service road back into the valley. Past Sonnenhof, it goes along the edge of the village to the junction with the service road, then turn right, after a few meters the theme path turns left and soon reaches the entrance to the forest at Blenter with the information board. Back to the starting point at Schloßstraße, go left along the path by the castle park. Those who want can take a detour through the Dreiser vineyards with a magnificent view of the castle and church. Returning to the village, the route follows parts of the Dreiser-Kreuze-Weg, down the stairs to the parish church of St. Martin.
