You can reach Saarburg coming from Trier or Saarbrücken via the B 51. Coming from Hermeskeil or Perl, the B 407 leads into the city of Saarburg.

Free and all-day parking is available near the swimming pool/at the city car park.
Additional paid parking is available directly at the Saarburg train station.
The route starts in Saarburg and initially leads through the district of Beurig to Irsch. In Irsch, you turn onto Zerfer Straße and follow the path steeply uphill to Speiner Bildchen. From there, it goes over the heights of the Hochwald to Ober- and Niederzerf to the Zerf train station. From here, follow the cycle path signs of the Ruwer-Hochwald cycle path past Hentern, Hinzenburg, and Sommerau to Waldrach on the Ruwer. Passing the vineyards of the Ruwer valley, you cycle further through Kasel, Mertesdorf, and Ruwer to Trier.
In Trier, you should definitely take some time to visit the cultural highlights of the UNESCO World Heritage city.
From Trier, follow the cycle path signs of the Moselle cycle path to Konz. In the Saar-Moselle town Konz, the Saar flows into the Moselle. On the last section, continue on the left side of the Saar via the Saar cycle path to Saarburg. On this section, you cycle on flat terrain along the river through the towns of Kanzem and Schoden to the destination Saarburg. On this route, you pass famous Saar wine sites and enjoy views of the sea of vines.
E-bike charging stations can be found along the way in:
- Saarburg at the boat landing stage, at Boemundhof, and at the city car park/House of Associations.
- Konz at the train station on Bahnhofstraße (Bike & Ride Box) as well as at Brunoplatz/Brunostraße 24 in the Karthaus district.

This route suggestion runs on various supraregional cycle paths in the Rheinland-Pfalz region. A uniform signage of the route is not available.
