The forest circular route starts at the heights and leads over the Burgberg (a Celtic refuge castle, built around 500 BC), over the Lämmerbach (also known as Butterfly Valley) to the 50th parallel, further to the Haselbach and back to the starting point via the Bergkapelle. The hike mostly leads through shady forests and offers a beautiful viewpoint shortly after the 50th parallel.

We start at the Kordel intersection car park and follow the T8 hiking trail (Mosel heights trail M) towards Reil. Over the Burgberg (a Celtic refuge castle, built around 500 BC), past the Lämmerbach (also known as Butterfly Valley), we reach the 50th parallel with a beautiful viewpoint into the Mosel valley. The circular route continues through shady forest paths via the Haselbach to the Bergkapelle Kröv. The chapel is always open and can be visited.
From there, continue to the starting point at the Kordel car park. On this last section, you can again enjoy beautiful viewpoints into the Mosel valley.
