The altitude difference from the Moselle to the Hunsrück is usually quite a challenge. The climb from Traben-Trarbach to Longkamp is strenuous, but still manageable. After that, you can enjoy great gravel sections and fantastic views. The descent is a real experience, as you plunge rapidly from the rugged Hunsrück plains into the romantic wine landscape.

From Kinheim, first follow the Moselle cycle path to Traben-Trarbach. From there via the district of Kautenbach up to Longkamp, where almost all the elevation has been covered. From there, the gravel section begins parallel to a main road, which is not visually disruptive. From the Hunsrück heights, the route descends steeply into the vineyards of Erden and Lösnich and back to Kinheim via the Moselle cycle path.
