We start the village walk at the playground on the street "Am Sterenbach". The first stop is the information board with the Lüxem coat of arms. We cross Vitelliusstraße and after a few steps reach Haus Rader, an old farmhouse from the 17th century. We continue along Vitellius- and Grünewaldstraße to the former tithe barn. Other stops nearby are the "Old Village School", an impressive wayside cross and the Hayer carpentry workshop. Set back a little in the "backyard" of the carpentry workshop is the "Mill Bakery", formerly a mill and sawmill. The village walk continues along the street "Im Bungert" to the fountain and the ice house. A small detour to the left, up a staircase, takes us to the old bowling alley before we receive information about tobacco cultivation at stop 11. Along the lively Sterenbach we cross the 50th parallel north before returning to the old girls' school, the Celtic fountain, and the church of St. Maria Magdalena.
The dedicated members of the Lüxem village association have set up informative signs at historically interesting places along the 2.5 km village walk.
Coming from Wittlich via Friedrichstraße to the town exit / roundabout. Continue via Vitelliusstraße to the junction of the street Am Sterenbach. Turn right here. Starting point of the walk at the village square / fire station, street "Am Sterenbach".

Other stops nearby are the "Old Village School", whose building was demolished in 1960, an impressive wayside cross from the 18th century, and the Hayer carpentry workshop. The tradition of the carpentry business in Lüxem has existed for over 100 years. Johann-Josef Hayer founded the carpentry workshop in 1903. He developed a woodworking machine that was patented in 1913. From 1915, the carpentry workshop produced its own electricity for lighting and machines. Set back a little in the "backyard" of the carpentry shop is the "Mill Bakery", formerly a mill and sawmill. The village walk continues along the street "Im Bungert" to the fountain and the ice house. Along the idyllic, unpaved walking path along the Sterenbach, we soon cross the 50th parallel north. Through the street "Am Sterenbach" and over small pedestrian paths, we head towards Vitelliusstraße to the former girls' school, now a kindergarten and rehearsal room for the Lüxem Music Association. Very close by are the "Old Village Fountain", also called the Celtic fountain, and the church of St. Maria Magdalena. From the church, we finally return to the start at the village square.
Please pay attention to traffic in the village during the walk!
The walking path along the Sterenbach is unpaved, sturdy shoes with good grip are recommended!
The historic village walk can be very well combined with the Lüxem circular hiking trail, ideal for a day trip with the whole family.
