The route is 9.7 km long and can be classified as easy to moderately difficult. Including breaks, you should plan for just under 4 hours. In the first kilometers up to Sang, a somewhat longer ascent must be overcome. From Sang-Neuhaus, you walk through a flat area of the Longuich forest to a small dead-end path that leads down to the Longuich Sauerbrunnen. On a firm forest path, you pass through the last forest section of the route to march through a vineyard path and under a motorway underpass towards the Villa Urbana near Longuich. Along a very beautifully laid out path through the Longuich industrial area, the route goes through the Moselle communities of Longuich and Kirsch back to the start and finish point of the Villa Urbana tour. The path is signposted with “R 11”.

Sauerbrunnen Longuich → This spring, which is said to be fed by the Devonian layers of the Hochwald, provides a highly iron-rich mineral water. The reddish coloration caused by iron oxide is unmistakable in the area around the spring.
Villa Urbana Longuich → In the course of land consolidation, the Rhineland State Museum Trier cut into the eastern side wing of an originally approximately 110 meters wide and 28 meters deep Villa Urbana in 1984. The protective structure, which only partially corresponds to the volume of the former side wing and was built on the ancient walls, exclusively houses the extensive remains of the former bathing facility. Remains of painted wall plaster, marble coverings, and glass mosaics suggest a high-quality furnishing of the palace-like villa.
