A short 200-meter detour to the Bee Nature Trail is a lovely alternative for a rest with a view. On the Bee Nature Trail above the village of Korlingen, a rotating display panel and several small stations provide all the important information on the topic of “bees.” Hikers and visitors will find a ground-level cooler at this scenic rest stop, stocked with non-alcoholic beverages that can be taken in exchange for a donation from April 1 through October 31. This is a beverage cooler sunk into the ground. With a simple hand movement, the bottle holder rises—conveniently and with minimal effort.
A good starting point is the “Galgenkopf” hiking parking lot on the Korlinger Höhe. Alternatively, you can use the parking lot in the center of Korlingen, right next to the former Benzmüller Inn.
The trail continues past the Korlinger Wacken to the Naumeter Kupp lookout point—a hill between Korlingen, Trier-Tarforst, and Waldrach/Ruwertal. It rises to an elevation of 343.9 m above sea level and is marked by a summit cross.
The trail continues downhill through beautiful stretches of forest until we reach the village of Korlingen. In the village, it’s worth taking a look at the Kulturkapelle, where concerts and cultural events are held regularly.
The trail then leads back uphill across meadows to the hiking parking lot.
Depending on the season and weather conditions, some sections of the trails may require extra caution to maintain a secure footing. Therefore, please wear clothing appropriate for the season and weather, as well as hiking boots with adequate tread.
