You start your pilgrimage today at the Viehtor, first walking into Im Zillgen street and then turning left into the dead end In der Lehn. In front of you, garages with brown doors appear; next to them, you climb the stairs up to a hunter's fence. Here you turn left and behind house number 39 turn right to a longer staircase. At the top, continue walking to the right. Opposite house number 9, turn left up the alley and reach another street, where you again keep left and follow it to a streetlamp. There, opposite house number 56, turn left onto a field path that runs above the houses and alongside fruit trees. You leave the Josefskapelle to the left, continue straight on a meadow path and follow the property fences. At the end, go left down past a large insect hotel. The path gets narrower and ends at a street you cross. There, first turn right, then left by a wooden privacy screen, and after another 50 m turn left again. The field path behind the curve ends at a street in Brey which you initially follow. In front of a house with wooden cladding, turn right into a dead end and go further right of a garage. Now you walk on soft ground through an impressive hollow path that ascends. Higher up, the Rheingoldbogen dream path joins from the left and first leads you to a shelter hut. Continuing uphill, you pass a fenced area with fruit trees and vineyards. Take the first path to the right and walk through shady forest to a clearing. There, turn right and continue on a gravel path. On the way, you pass a memorial cross for a pilgrim from Koblenz who died in 1852 as well as a group of burial mounds. Ignore all side paths until you reach a red and white barrier. Beyond it, at a junction, turn right and then continue straight on the broad path. The path now curves right, then you turn left uphill and hike to a T-junction where you also keep left. Slightly below the path, a sensory bench offers a beautiful view of the Rhine valley. At the next fork, continue right and after some time reach two rest benches. Immediately behind, a narrow path leads down to the left. It might be a bit slippery here when wet. You come back to a forest path, follow it left, and pass the entrance to a via ferrata. Shortly after, you reach the Angel Oak and a shelter hut. To the left of the mighty tree, take the initially ascending path which soon leads to a lower shelter hut and a mountain bike course. Leave this to the right and shortly after arrive at the Vierseenblick viewpoint. Behind the inn, you reach a junction where you continue left. In front of a transformer box, turn left onto a slightly hilly forest path that leads to another viewpoint and to Gedeonseck. From here, it is not far to the mountain station of the chairlift. Behind the playground of the inn, a rocky switchback path awaits you as a challenge, rewarded with constantly stunning views of Boppard. Just a few steps from the bottom station of the chairlift, you reach a street which you follow left through the railway underpass up to the B9. Here you turn right, pass the St. Remigius shrine and cross the B9. After the zebra crossing, go left downhill, enter the Kreuzweg (Way of the Cross), and at its end find yourself directly on the Rhine promenade.
Behind the landing stage of the Boppard ferry, turn into Burgstraße, then left into Untere Marktstraße, and then right into Ablassgasse. Cross Oberstraße and walk through Steinstraße. At the end, first go left over a square and then right towards parts of the medieval city wall. Take the underpass of the B9 and the railway track, climb the stairs at the parking garage to a street. On the opposite side, turn left. Behind Realschule Marienberg, turn right and stay on a path along the school grounds. Behind the sports field, the path leads to a metal railing down right into Marienberger Park, which you cross up to a small lake. Finally, on the left side begins the last ascent of the day. A narrow path leads you in tight switchbacks to a shelter hut where you can rest and look back at Boppard.
Behind the hut, the path goes through a barrier to a yard behind which you turn left. Where a field begins, a meadow path through a small avenue branches off left. At the next fork, a detour to the viewpoint Thonethöhe on the left is recommended. You will find more such points along the right path leading along the edge of the slope. Finally, you reach a field path that you follow left through the orchards. Behind a wooden garden house, leave the path left into the forest. The Way of St. James now loses altitude steadily. At a fenced area, you see an oversized white butterfly. Then you should use the meadow path to the right that leads to the first houses of Bad Salzig. Leave the houses left and opposite house number 37 turn right into Wehrweg. At the next junction, go left into Hüttenweg and after a few steps turn right. At the bottom, you reach Römerstraße and walk 20 m right to the end of the stage at the Quellpavillon at the L 212. The center of Bad Salzig can be reached by going left along the road.
