Lieser Trail loop around Wittlich (W11). Relaxed, approximately 11 km long hike around Wittlich over parts of the Lieser Trail in a relaxing forest atmosphere with the opportunity to stop at the charming beer garden of the Alte Pleiner Mühle.
The circular hike starts at the historic market square in Wittlich at the tourist information and leaves the town always accompanied by the Lieser through the city park and along the Wittlich vineyards. Along the way, three old mills line the path - the Brückenmühle, Hasen- and Bastenmühle are passed before a soft forest path leads the next 4 km with beautiful views of the Abachs- and Bohlensmühle to the Alte Pleiner Mühle. Here, the Lieser is crossed over the new, impressive suspension bridge, and through the mill’s gateway the path initially continues along the paved access road until it carefully crosses the K 21. A few meters further, the circular route turns right onto a meadow path and leads past the Landhaus Huwer and beside the district road from Wittlich to Plein, returning to the town.
