The Lüxem circular hiking trail starts in the town center at the historic village square, Sterenbachstraße. Along the Sterenbach stream, it leads to Felsenstraße; from here, excellent and gapless signposting guides hikers around the charming village. The circular trail is a follow-up project to the "historic village tour" running inside the village, completed by the Lüxem village association as a voluntary citizen project in summer 2020. Special attention was paid by the association to renovating the benches placed along the circular trail and to making the trail informative. Thus, information boards with historical knowledge about the popular Wittlich district are found at the viewpoints, and the tables and benches set up at the shelter in the quarry invite visitors to linger.

From Wittlich, take Friedrichstraße to the town exit / roundabout. Continue along Vitelliusstraße to the junction of the street at Sterenbach. Turn right here. Starting point of the hike at the village square / fire station.
Lüxem is connected to Wittlich by bus line 302.

Starting from the historic village square in the town center, Sterenbachstraße, first go over the playground and the bridge to the right along the Sterenbach stream up to Felsenstraße. From Felsenstraße, the circular hiking trail is signposted in both directions. We initially hike on the right through Felsenstraße and cross Vitelliusstraße. Continue through the street "Zum Wenigenberg" until the junction. Now go uphill on the left past a historic wayside cross, turn right at the next intersection, and soon reach the first viewpoint Großenberg on the Rollkopf. Over the ridge, continue past ancient trees through the tranquil Lüxem forest. At the street Höhe Krankenhaus, turn right along a row of trees, across meadows to the edge of the village of Lüxem. Through the street "Im Wingert" go a short distance into the village, then turn left following the signposts uphill to the viewpoint Quetschenberg. Along the circular route and in the nearby shelter in the quarry there are many opportunities to rest. From the Quetschenberg viewpoint, follow winding forest paths past uprooted trees through an especially idyllic forest section to the Steinige Bach hiking car park. We cross the street and follow the signposting leading us back towards the village. Shortly before Lüxem, continue a short distance along Grünewaldstraße, then soon turn left into the street "Im Bungert." Through the street "Am Wiesenhang," it goes steadily uphill back into the forest. On idyllic forest paths, you will soon reach the Galgenberg viewpoint with a wonderful view of Lüxem. Via Finnbachhof, cross meadows, the bridge over Sterenbach, and follow the stream back to the village.
