For the Röttgen Wine Trail, the parking lot at Winningen station is recommended. Motorhomes can also be parked there. The access to the wine trail is only 100 meters away.
The wine trail runs along the steepest vineyards with old dry stone walls up to a height of 190 meters. The varied circular route has a medium difficulty level. Over a distance of eight kilometers through the wine cultural landscape, there are magnificent views of the Moselle valley. Worthwhile detours along the way include the so-called Witch Hill, the Koblenz-Winningen airfield, or a break at the "Pfarrheckskopf." Numerous information boards provide interesting facts about the special features on this circular route. Along the way is the Winningen Vineyard Terraces stele "Beacon of Biodiversity," an award from the DLR Mosel. Additionally, the German Wine Institute has listed the Winningen Vineyard Terraces as "Highlights of Wine Culture."
The wine trail is paved in the flat sections up to Koblenz-Güls and at the height.
For your own safety and for the protection of flora and fauna, please always stay on the marked paths. The hiking trail has some steep, difficult, and slippery sections in rain or winter weather. Therefore, sure-footedness and good physical condition are essential requirements.

Danger situations:
In case of an emergency, quick help is needed. And even though mobile phones can transmit GPS signals, the classic rescue points are often the fastest. They are located at places easily accessible to rescue vehicles. Remember the points with the green signs and a white cross. In an emergency, return there and give the number on the sign when calling for help. This helps rescuers know where to find you.
For the best hiking experience, we recommend the specified direction of travel (see arrows on the map). Arrow signposts in the colors of the wine trails will show you the direction along the way. Afterwards, enjoy a glass of wine at the Winningen gastronomy.
