The "Rund um Waldesch" route offers great views of Waldesch and a great view of the Moseltal Bridge and Marksburg. The path is family-friendly and there are several places to stop for a rest and refreshment. Additionally, you can see the telecommunications tower "Kühkopf."
The Rund um Waldesch route offers a view of all of Waldesch and borders on extensive forest areas.
From the Hunsrückhöhenstraße (B 327), coming from Koblenz, turn left at the end of the village of Waldesch; coming from the Autobahn (A 61), turn right at the entrance to the village, and after about 400 m, reach the parking lot on the left side.

Hiking parking lot at L208
From the village square past the kindergarten, take the small footpath to Triftstrasse. Then turn left down Triftstrasse, continuing to the street "Am Eschbach." Always straight along the "Eschbach," which is initially piped, later flowing openly. Pass the sewage treatment plant until after about 2 kilometers the first opportunity arises to cross the Eschbach. Cross the brook and on the other side take a steep path up to the forest road leading to "Hinterberg." At the top, turn left along the forest road to the former nursery at L 208. Cross L 208 and slightly right opposite enter the path. Pass the tennis courts through Christmas tree plantations up to "Heideberg" with the "Heidekreuz." From the Heidekreuz continue to B 327. Through the underpass further to Rhens-Hünenfeld. In the village, there is an opportunity to stop at "Rosi's Wanderstube" on weekends. In Rhens-Hünenfeld, take the cycle path to Waldesch. Follow the cycle path to L 208. Cross it and continue straight on the farm road. In a wide right curve to the forest. In the forest, keep left, and shortly afterwards leave the forest again. After leaving the forest, keep right and after about 200 meters go left down to the "Waldescher Grillhütte." Behind the grill hut, through the underpass of B 327 into the village area. Through Koblenzer Straße back to the start point.
For your own safety and to protect flora and fauna, please always stay on the marked paths. The hiking trail has partly steep, difficult, and slippery sections in rainy or winter weather. Therefore, surefootedness and good fitness are essential prerequisites.

Danger situations:
If there is an emergency situation, quick help is needed. Although mobile phones can send GPS signals, classic rescue points are often the fastest way. These are located at places easily accessible to rescue vehicles. Remember the points with green signs and a white cross. In an emergency, return there and give the number on the sign during your emergency call. This way, rescuers will know where to find you.
- Sturdy and comfortable footwear.
- Weather-appropriate clothing, possibly in layers.
- Backpack with supplies: Enough to drink and, if necessary, food, as there are not always places to eat or shop available or open.
- Depending on the weather, sun or rain protection, as well as mosquito/tick repellent.
The path is suitable for families, as there is much to discover and marvel at.
