The small circular hike starts at the well-known Landhotel Lamberty. The hike leads out of the village into the Kailbach valley via the Roman Road. Along the stream and colorful meadows, the small chapel "Augenbildchen" is reached: inside is a statue of the Virgin Mary, whose eyes are said to have a special power. She looks out onto bubbling spring water, which pilgrims like to use to cool their eyes and presumably also for eye ailments. From the chapel, the route continues to the junction with the sign "Roman tomb." The grave, dating from around 200 AD, is reached after a short climb and is worth a detour. The route continues marked LS9, steadily uphill. Soon the forest path forks, and the route continues to the right. After 1.5 km, the turnoff to the Celtic ring wall "Burscheider Mauer" is reached: during excavations in 1967, it was found that the ring wall is made of a massive dry stone wall and was built around the first century AD.
The easy, 11 km long hike (marked LS9) starts from the Landhotel Lamberty and follows the Kailbach with detours to the Roman tomb and the Celtic ring wall Burscheider Mauer.
Via the A60 motorway, exit Landscheid, continue via Federal Road B50 to Niederkail, Landhotel Lamberty, Brückenstraße.

Parking is available on the roadside in Brückenstraße and in front of the Landhotel Lamberty when you stop there afterwards.
The circular hike leaves Niederkail via the Roman Road and the LS9 trail marker and leads into the Kailbach valley. It goes flat along beautiful meadows to the chapel "Augenbildchen" until the junction towards the Roman tomb, which is reached after a short ascent. From the Roman tomb, the route continues along the forest edge, soon steadily uphill to the fork in the path. The LS9 marker continues to the right. After about 1500 meters, the turnoff to the Celtic ring wall Burscheider Mauer is reached. The path then continues over soft forest trails through beautiful mixed forest back to the village.
The paths in the Kailbach valley are partly wet and slippery. Good hiking shoes and poles are recommended.

After the hike, it is worth stopping at the Landhotel Lamberty. Cakes and coffee taste especially good in the lovingly designed garden.
