As part of their environmental education efforts, the Beekeepers' Association Cochem and Surroundings e.V. has set up a themed trail in cooperation with the local community of Bruttig-Fankel, providing information on beekeeping and bee products.
On six informational boards, you will certainly learn many new things about the honeybee and beekeeping activities. The themed trail is complemented by a station with wild bee nesting aids. Here, you can observe the life and breeding behaviors of various native wild bees and parasitoid wasps on site. The highlight is a so-called block hive. Here, through a glass pane—protected against stings—the hidden life of a bee colony in a tree cavity can be observed.

On the Trier-Koblenz route, get off at Cochem station and continue by bus to Bruttig-Fankel (line 716->717)
Bus:
Extra care is required during and after rain, snowfall, or ice. Walk carefully, wear good footwear, and avoid overestimating your abilities and risky excursions.
Be sure to bring enough provisions (especially mineral water). However, watch the weight of your backpack. Take breaks, carry a mobile phone with you (for emergencies), and avoid hiking during thunderstorm risk.
