The route starts at the Mosel riverside in Traben. From here it goes towards Kautenbach. Shortly after Hotel Jungenwald, turn left into the forest and follow the steep switchbacks. A drinking source at the beginning of the switchbacks is available to refresh yourself with cold water. The height is reached when you reach the stud farm. From here it continues via field paths up to the L190. Cross the road and go a short distance further to Starkenburg, until the path turns right. A relaxed section leads downhill through the forest, then another height is climbed, which ends in the village of Starkenburg. Behind Starkenburg it goes downhill again through the forest until you reach the Mosel. From here, follow the bike path back to the Mosel parking lot.

Particular caution is required when crossing the L190 and B53!
