From the boathouse, we follow the signposted access path. At an ascent into the vineyards, the steep climb begins. We follow the Zollturm Steig markings - purple round. The climb leads steeply up to Starkenburg, past the church there. Just before the ruins of Starkenburg, it goes steeply downhill to the left into old vineyard terraces. After a short section, the loop meets the red round of the Zollturmsteig. Here you can decide to combine both routes or take the direct return path and continue to follow the purple signs.
You should be free of dizziness for the route.
Paths can be slippery in wet weather.
After the sweat-inducing climb to Starkenburg, you will be rewarded with a fantastic view.
